In the blessed month of Dhuĺlhijjah, the pious companions of the Holy Prophet and their followers used to do many acts of worship . The first ten days of this month are called al-ayyím al-ma`lúmít (The Stated Days) by the Holy Qur'ín.
About these highly honorable days, the Holy Prophet (ą) is reported to have said that nothing is more preferable to Almighty Allah than practicing acts of worship on these ten stated days.

The first ten days of this month are full of significance and merit. The Holy Prophet (saww) has said: There are no days when Allah is as pleased with good deeds as He is in these ten days.

1.Keep fast on the first 9 days of the month of Dhilhijja (not on the 10th). In a tradition from Imam Musa Kazim (Pbuh), if a person fasts on the first nine days of Dhilhijja, Allah (swt) gives him the reward of a lifetime of fasting.
