Hair (شعر)

The Arabic word for hair is 'Sha`ar'.

Hajj (حج)

Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam. The Hajj is a pilgrimage to the city of Makkah in Saudi Arabia. Hajj is obligatory on every Muslim except those who are ill or have financial constraints.

Hajj ceremonies

Pilgrimage to Mecca (an obligatory Islamic ceremony by visiting the Holy places and doing religious rituals in Mecca)

Hajji (حجي)

A male who has gone to Makkah and done the obligatory Hajj ritual is called a Hajji. A female who has done it is known as a Hijjiyah.

Hakam (حكم)

Judge or referee.

Halal (حلال)

Permissible, lawful. Used especially in referance to food.

Ham (لحم الخنزير)

Ham is pig meat, so the Arabic words means pig meat - Laham al-khanzeer.

Hamd (حمد)

Praise. The word Hamd alone is not very useful but when used in phrases like 'Al hamdu lillah', (The) Praise be to Allah, it is effective.

Hamzah (حمزه)

Hamzah (RA) was one of the uncles of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH&HP). He died a martyr in the battle of Uhud after being struck with a spear in his back. He was titled 'assadullah', the lion of God, as he was a very strong and brave defender of Islam.

Happy (فرحان)

The Arabic word for happy is farhan.
